Bird Brush 100 “Kaze” — Wind

100 brushes, 100 lines, 100 breaths.

The first work of Bird Brush 100, created with one hundred brushes made from bird feathers. In homage to the artist’s name, “Tsubasa” (wings), the series began with a single feather.

A series that captures the very act of writing, recorded through moving images and accompanied by one hundred calligraphic works. It interweaves the memory of travel with the traces of writing.

A contemporary calligraphy video series that reinterprets the Hyakunin Isshu (One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets) through Manyōgana and aligns it with the traditional Japanese calendar of twenty-four solar terms and seventy-two microseasons.
