Commercial Works
Making the voice of a brand visible, shaping calligraphy that speaks to the world.
In Commercial Works, I explore new possibilities of calligraphy within the realms of branding and spatial design—ranging from advertising, logos, and titles to shop signage and commercial displays.
My portfolio includes advertising design for companies such as Panasonic and NIWAKA, exhibition titles for traditional crafts, displays for commercial facilities, logos for long-established confectionery shops, and inscriptions for temple plaques.
Building on this diverse body of work, I continue to propose new expressions that highlight the unique presence and distinctiveness achievable only through hand-brushed calligraphy.
Selected Commissions

Panasonic — Newspaper Advertising
Commissioned by Hakuhodo and Panasonic for a full-page newspaper advertisement promoting mobile phones. All calligraphy used in the campaign was executed by hand, with bold strokes emphasizing the dynamism and appeal of the product on a large public platform.

NIWAKA — Magazine Advertising
Calligraphy produced for a jewelry brand’s magazine advertising. The brushwork was integrated as a design element within the overall visual concept, enhancing the elegance and refined sensibility of the brand.

Kawashima Textile — Exhibition Work
Calligraphy created for the exhibition space of a long-established textile brand. The work introduced the presence of calligraphy into the environment, grounding the space with a sense of cultural depth.

Yoshinoya — Shop Signage & Package Logo
Calligraphy created for the shop signage and package logo of a long-established Japanese confectionery. The brushwork embodies tradition and refinement, reinforcing the brand’s identity and trust.

Chestnut Sweets Specialty Shop — Interior Work “Chestnut”
Calligraphy of the character “chestnut” for the interior of a specialty sweets shop. Serving as a symbol of the shop’s concept, the work adds a distinctive presence to the space.

Myoshinji Temple — Wooden Plaques
Calligraphy inscribed on wooden plaques dedicated to a Zen temple. The dignified brushwork reflects the solemnity of the sacred space, symbolizing both prayer and tradition. Drawing on prior experience working as a calligrapher at Nishi Hongan-ji in Kyoto, the artist is also engaged in commissions for temples and shrines.

Details
Released in two variations, black and white. The calligraphic strokes were embossed to create raised and recessed textures, producing a full-surface design with both visual depth and tactile presence.
Tokiwasangyo — Limited-time Wallpaper Collaboration (Product Release)
A collaboration that transformed calligraphic brush lines into wallpaper design, released as a limited-time product. The project introduced the beauty of calligraphy in a modern form, harmonizing naturally with living spaces.
In addition to advertising and logos, I also engage in the following fields.
